Managing Your Products

Learn how to add, edit, and organize your product inventory.

Adding Your First Product

1. Access Product Management

  • Click "Products" in the sidebar
  • Click "Add Product" button

2. Fill in Product Details

Required Fields: - Product Name: Clear, descriptive name - Weight: In kilograms (e.g., 0.5 for 500g)

Optional Fields: - SKU/Code: Your internal product code - Category: Organize by type - Description: Product details - Image: Product photo

3. Save Product

  • Click "Create Product"
  • Product appears in your inventory
  • Ready to use in deliveries!

Product Information Best Practices

Product Names

✅ Good: "Organic Whole Milk 1L" ❌ Bad: "Milk"

✅ Good: "Fresh Strawberries 250g Pack" ❌ Bad: "Berries"

Weight Guidelines

  • Liquids: Convert to kg (1L milk ≈ 1.03kg)
  • Produce: Use average weight
  • Packaged: Use labeled weight
  • Bulk: Use standard unit weight

Product Codes/SKUs

Use consistent format: - MILK-ORG-1L - BERRY-STRAW-250 - BREAD-WH-500

Editing Products

Update Product Info

  1. Go to Products page
  2. Find the product
  3. Click "Edit" button
  4. Make changes
  5. Click "Update Product"

What You Can Edit

  • ✅ Name
  • ✅ Weight
  • ✅ SKU/Code
  • ✅ Category
  • ✅ Description
  • ✅ Image

Organizing Products

Categories

Create categories for easier management: - Dairy: Milk, Cheese, Yogurt - Produce: Fruits, Vegetables - Bakery: Bread, Pastries - Frozen: Ice cream, Frozen meals - Beverages: Juice, Soda, Water

Search and Filter

  • Search by Name: Find products quickly
  • Sort by: Name, Date Added, Weight
  • Filter: By category (if set)

Product Images

Image Guidelines

  • Format: JPG, PNG
  • Size: Maximum 5MB
  • Resolution: At least 800x800px
  • Background: Clean, white preferred
  • Quality: Clear, well-lit photo

Adding Images

  1. Edit product
  2. Click "Choose File"
  3. Select image
  4. Click "Upload"
  5. Save changes

Bulk Operations

Import Products (Coming Soon)

  • Upload CSV file
  • Map columns
  • Import hundreds of products at once

Export Products

  1. Go to Products page
  2. Click "Download CSV"
  3. Open in Excel or Google Sheets
  4. View all product data

Bulk Delete

  1. Select multiple products (checkboxes)
  2. Click "Bulk Actions"
  3. Choose "Delete Selected"
  4. Confirm deletion

Common Issues

"Product Already Exists"

  • Check if product name is duplicate
  • Use different name or SKU

"Weight Required"

  • All products must have weight
  • Enter 0.1 for very light items

"Image Upload Failed"

  • Check file size (max 5MB)
  • Use JPG or PNG format
  • Try resizing image

Best Practices

  1. Consistent Naming: Use standard format
  2. Accurate Weights: Important for logistics
  3. Use SKUs: Makes tracking easier
  4. Add Images: Helps identify products
  5. Regular Review: Keep inventory updated
  6. Remove Unused: Archive discontinued items

Product Analytics

Track product performance: - Most Delivered: Top products - Delivery Frequency: How often shipped - Returns: Products with issues - Weight Impact: Logistics costs
